  • Jeffrey “Coach Steady” Johnson serves as Head Coach at Alexandria Boxing Club. Coach Steady’s relentless, selfless service in providing leadership to the ALX Boxing Team is truly unmatched. Monday through Saturday, Coach Steady can be found at ALX Boxing Club giving his all with no complaints.

    Coach Steady is committed to training skilled boxers, National Boxing Champions, Pro Boxers, and Olympians. To the parents, Coach Steady is family – they affectionately call him father, cousin, brother, and uncle and fully trust him with their children.

    Coach Steady is a Native of Alexandria, VA and now spends most of his time giving back to his community. His interest is always to do what is best for the kids, with inner-city kids being a priority.

    Like the coaches before him, ALX Boxing Club is his life, and he is dedicated to the mission. Whatever the Boxing team needs, he will sacrifice everything for the team.

  • Eric Zimmerman serves as an Assistant Coach at Alexandria Boxing Club. He is a certified One Star International Boxing Association (IBA) coach, a USA Boxing Coaching Education Clinician, and a coach for USA Boxing’s High-Performance Team.

    His passion for the sport of boxing started in the At-risk Youth Program with the Dallas Police Athletic League. He went on to win the 2008 Texas Golden Gloves and then enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, where he continued to fight competitively across the world; winning tournaments in South Korea, Qatar, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia.

    Coach Eric is dedicated to the development and enrichment of our youth athletes at ALX Boxing, both inside and outside of the ring.

  • Chad Zamana is an Assistant Coach at Alexandria Boxing Club. Chad is also a Team USA High-Performance Boxing Coach, One Star International Boxing Association (IBA) Coach, and Bronze-level certified USA Boxing Coach. Chad has been coaching for the past 15 years.

    Chad is a former amateur boxer and highly competitive athlete originally from Steubenville Ohio. Chad served in the United States Marine Corps, and is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

    Chad has a passion for helping others and dedicates his time and knowledge to athletes in and out of the ring. He has trained and worked with amateur boxers, professional boxers, and Olympians. He has participated in several training camps at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Chula Vista, California.

    Chad is an active member in the community and continues to support and help those in need, including the homeless population.
